Are stars (ratings) more important than what works best for your dog/s?
What *if* somebody’s dog/s did better on a low rated food, should they have to change brands just because Dogfoodanalysis gives it a 1,2,3 stars?
I go with the "if it isn't broke…" philosophy on dog food. I have spent many years on and off trying desperately to prove to myself that feeding a higher "esteemed", more expensive food makes a difference in my dogs' coat, weight, condition, and performance.
I always seem to fail miserably. I have been feeding a 2-star food for years, and doing feeding trials with higher-rated foods for years…and I always come back to the 2-star food.
Consider this: Nobody I know of who works their dogs in the field (mushing, hunting, herding) feeds a "5-star" food. The top long distance mushers in the world feed foods dogfoodanalysis.com deems 1- or 2-star (Eagle Pack Power, Eukanuba, Blackwood, etc.) When racing, these dogs burn 240 calories per pound (roughly 9600 calories) per day! They are world class athletes. And many of them are running 1000 mile races at 8-9 years old!
I think that says a lot more about the food than a star rating on a website.

I had to euthanize my cat of 9 years at the beginning of March because he suffered from acute kidney failure. Though the production date code on the food I had was 6256 and 6293 and the Iams website recalled 6339 and up, I find the coincidence a little unnerving.

Crate your dog. It is easier to potty train a dog if you can watch him closely during the potty training period. He may do something nasty if left alone, so it is best to crate him to closely monitor his actions.
Give proper dog food. To help you potty train a dog easily, you have to take into consideration the kind of dog food you prepare. Not all dog foods are good and dog foods have effects on your dogâs poop. The amount of food your dog eats determines the amount of poop he will eliminate. Teach him to recognize a word or phrase every time he needs to pee or poop. You can repeat the words âgo outside and poopâ to help him associate these words or phrase each time he needs to eliminate. This will teach your dog to go outside on his own when itâs time to poop or pee.
Praise him. Remember that your dog wants to please you and praising him each time he followed your instructions will send a message that you are pleased with his behavior. It is important to send a positive message to effectively potty train a dog.
